AfrISPA is responsible for one of nine components of CATIA (Catalyzing Access To ICTs In Africa) which has as its objective "Robust African Internet Backbone with Exchange Points (IXPs) at the Core and Strong ISP Associations".
The Enabling Internet Service Providers Association (En-ISPA) is an AFRISPA initiative funded by CATIA that aims at:
- Increasing the awareness of the benefits of ISPAs
- Enhancing collaboration between ISPAs on the continent
- En-ISPA is mandated to conduct eight (8) national or regional workshops to achieve the above stated objectives. The outcome is establishment of more ISPAs and collaboration between them for effective lobbying on the continent
The En-ISPA team has developed course material to be used during the workshops.
